Mesotherapy
Mesotherapy Treatment

Mesotherapy has been used as a cosmetic treatment designed to rejuvenate areas such as the face, neck and body since it was first introduced in France in the 1950s. It is designed to rejuvenate areas such as the face, neck, décolleté and hands.
Mesotherapy involves superficial micro-injections of hyaluronic acid into the mesoderm (middle layer of skin) directly into the area concerned. The injections only penetrate to a very shallow depth, approx 4-6mm using the smallest needle.
Mesotherapy is a technique that has been developed to maintain the natural glow of the skin.

FAQs
What is Mesotherapy?
Mesotherapy involves the injection of Hyaluronic Acid – directly into the mesoderm (middle layer of the skin) to nourish and rejuvenate, promote production of collagen and elastin and stimulates your skin’s metabolism. As your skin ages, cells loose water binding molecules and skin becomes dehydrated crêpey with lines and wrinkles.
Micro-injections of hyaluronic acid are used to restore plumpness and volume to areas such as the face, eye area, neck and décolleté. Clients who have had mesotherapy describe their skin as looking plumper, hydrated, radiant, glowing and firmer.
Mesotherapy, discovered in the 1950’s introduces microscopic quantities of homeopathic medications, traditional pharmaceuticals, vitamins, minerals and amino acids into the skin to treat a variety of conditions.
The term ‘mesotherapy’ is derived from two words: meso and therapy. Meso refers to the embryonic tissue (mesoderm) which gives rise to the connective tissues of the body. Thus, the area of the dermis (skin) where the injections are placed is mesoderm or middle area of the skin.
What will happen during the treatment?
Multiple micro-injections using a very fine needle are administered immediately beneath the surface of the skin, directly into the problem area requiring treatment. The aim is to replace the Hyaluronic acid that is lost as we age.
How long does the treatment take?
A local anaesthetic cream is applied to the area 30 minutes before treatment; treatment time will take approx. minutes.
What is the recovery time?
It is recommended that you have some time to recover after treatment. You will experience some superficial swelling, which will settle within 24-48 hours. Although rare, other possible side effects include the appearance of some small needle marks which will also resolve within a few days. Treatment around the eye area may take longer to settle – possibly 5-7 days.
How often do I need to repeat treatments?
Typically, the initial treatment course recommended is of 1-3 sessions at 6-week intervals.
Can I have Mesotherapy at the same time as other anti-ageing treatments?
Mesotherapy can be used as an alternative to other treatments. It can be used in combination with all other rejuvenation treatments including laser rejuvenation, Botulinum Toxin and Platelet Rich Plasma. Normally it’s advised to leave a two-week gap between laser or radiofrequency treatments.
How safe is Mesotherapy?
Using Hyaluronic acid which is naturally found in your skin is very safe. The Mesolis range offers rejuvenation products with the highest concentration of Hyaluronic acid on the market and the greatest hydrating power thanks to Glycerol, one of the components of Mesolis.
Does the treatment hurt?
With the use of local anaesthetic cream, there is minimal discomfort to none at all.
How long does it last?
This varies from client to client depending on the area being treated. If a course of 3 sessions is complete the effects should last from 12-18 months. Gradually over time the product and effects will fade.
Which areas of the face and body can be treated with Mesotherapy?
Mesolis products can be used on many parts of the body, face (especially the eye area), and neck.
What aftercare is required?
Normally immediately after treatment, an icepack is applied to the area. It is recommended that you continue to apply a cool pack on the area for a few hours after treatment until the initial swelling settles down. You will be given aftercare advice at your consultation.
